Graana Clubs Announce ‘Cycling Sunday’ for Cycle Enthusiasts

To awaken the importance of behavioral change initiatives and mainstreaming non-motorized short distance travel within the city, Graana Clubs organize ‘Cycling Sunday’ every first Sunday of the month. This is a joint initiative organized by Graana Clubs in collaboration with Urban Innovation, Islamabad Capital Territory Administration (ICTA), Islamabad Cycling Association, ITP, Tobacco Smoke-free Islamabad, Urban Platform, MTB Islamabad, Prime Minister’s Tiger Force, and Critical Mass Islamabad. The recreational event is held on Islamabad’s primary road, Jinnah Avenue, and culminates at the infamous D-Chowk, where people enjoy immensely with their friends and families.

Bicycle enthusiasts can avail the option of leisure cycling, as well as take part in cycling contests that are organized by the hosts. The initiative is aimed at transforming the Federal Capital into a bicycle-friendly city with better cycling infrastructure, including dedicated cycling lanes and parking spaces to promote eco-friendly activities.
