GWADAR: The development work on Eastbay Expressway will be completed in 2021, announced Chairman, China Overseas Ports Holding Company Pakistan Pvt Ltd (CoPHCL) Zhang Baozhong in the 5th Meeting of the Joint Working Group on Gwadar held virtually to review the progress of projects in Gwadar.
After completion, the project will connect the port with the 2nd Phase of the Free Trade Zone (FTZ).
The project was aimed at accommodating businesses, by minimizing the logistic cost and promoting transhipment trade.

Among the discussed projects were the New Gwadar International Airport (NGIA) and M-8 Motorway directed at providing seamless air and road connectivity.
The Pak-China Friendship Hospital and the Vocational & Technical Institute in Gwadar aimed to provide medical facilities for living in Gwadar and nearby areas.
In addition, the 1.2 MGD Desalination plant project that will provide fresh water in the area.
Senior officials of the Ministry of Planning, Ministry of Maritime Affairs, representatives of the Government of Balochistan, Civil Aviation Authority, Board of Investment (BoI) and other relevant officials were among the attendees of the meeting.
