The projects being implemented are funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), European Union (EU), World Bank WB, and funds released by China, US, France, UK, Germany, Japan, and Saudi Arabia.

In this regard, the National Coordination Committee on Foreign-Funded Projects (NCC-FFP) held a meeting to review the progress of the projects being carried out.

The development projects include the installation of solar facilities in 8,000 schools under the Access to Clean Energy Investment Programme – facilitated by the ADB. Out of the total, work in 5,946 was completed, whereas the remaining work will be completed by June 2022.

The committee also reviewed the progress of the ‘Pehur High-Level Canal Extension Project’. The project worth $86.41 million – also funded by the ADB, will irrigate an area sprawling over 8,727 hectares in the Swabi and Nowshera districts of K-P, boosting agricultural activities in the area.

In addition, work on a total of 287 micro-hydropower plants (MHPP) has been completed, whereas 411 plants are yet to be installed.
