LAHORE: The Water and Power Development Authority of Pakistan has intended to revamp the Rasul hydel station situated between the upper Jhelum and lower Jhelum canals in Punjab.
The hydel station has the capacity to generate 22 megawatts of electricity while it has added 5.5 billion units to the national power grid.
The energy produced by the hydel station is low-cost and environment friendly, and a plan is being envisaged to increase its capacity.
According to the details, a feasibility report has been conducted by the department and the work on the project will start soon.
On the importance of utilizing the hydro resources, Chairman WAPDA was of the view that the department is executing a strategy to utilize the hydro resources of Pakistan.
