LUMS is one of the most famous and well-reputed top universities in Lahore. It was established in 1984 with advice from the Harvard Business School and a $10 million grant from USAID. In 1986 it was established as a graduate business school. In 1994 it started its programs in the field of liberal arts, an engineering school in 2008, a law school in 2004, and an education school in 2017.

Forman Christian College was founded in 1864 by Dr. Charles W Forman, a Presbyterian missionary from the USA. Previously the college was called Lahore Mission College, but later on, the name was changed to Forman Christian College in honor of the founder.
FCCU is the first college in the subcontinent where laboratory research work of Nobel Prize caliber was conducted. Dr. Arthur Compton received the Nobel Prize in 1932 for research conducted, in large part, at FCCU.
FCCU promotes gender equality and the inclusion of women in education. In 1902, the college was the first in Punjab to admit women. Today, the university has over 8,000 students and 343 full-time faculty members, with 158 possessing PhDs.

The Kinnaird College for Women (KCW) is a Women’s university located at the heart of Lahore. It is one of the few liberal arts universities in Pakistan. The university opened its doors to the public in 1913. The Zenana Bible and Medical Mission founded it. In 1919, Presbyterian Mission Church and the Church Mission Society joined a consortium to fund and operate the college.
