LAHORE: The Traffic Engineering and Planning Agency (TEPA) has announced amendments in building bylaws promoting rooftop gardening.
The authority will plant indigenous trees on the roofs of the newly-constructed commercial buildings under the first phase of the initiative aimed to curb air pollution and promote urban agriculture. Under the second phase, the bylaws will be amended to mandate the plantation on the roofs and balconies of tall buildings.
The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) and Parks & Horticulture Authority (PHA) will help TEPA complete this task.
