Karachi: Karachi Development Authority (KDA) will introduce public housing schemes for underprivileged communities to address their housing issues and explore a new revenue source.
According to a statement by Dr Badar Jameel, Director General KDA, the civic agency is planning to launch several programmes to look after the marginalised communities, which is only possible if the provincial local government ministry extends maximum support. He reiterated that the Sindh Minister for Local Government has indeed a key role to play in materialising any such initiatives.
He added that to ensure the provision of basic human rights to the said communities, KDA already has multiple plans in a pipeline.
While commenting on the induction of technology at KDA, he said that with the installation of bio-metric system, the attendance of staff has considerably increased. Similarly, to improve upon the financial stability of the agency, KDA has constituted Auction Committee that would prepare and submit a report of the disposable land property.
