The CM was presiding over a high-level meeting of Ease of Doing Business Reforms Council, where he had invited heads of 10 different government agencies including K-Electric, Karachi Water and Sewerage Board and others to share their respective input for making the business environment friendlier.

“I have to bring a lot of investment in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Mirpurkhas and Thatta regions,” he said.

At the meeting, a senior member of the Board of Revenue acknowledged that it takes anywhere from 149 days to six months for registration of property and its transfer.

Murad responded by reiterating the need to speed up the process and slash it down from six months to six days. He ordered the Board to ensure that the app is ready to launch by the end of February.

The CM further directed the Board to outsource its call centre, as the current set-up has failed to resolve public complaints.

“We need an efficient system and manpower, otherwise ask them to pack up,” he said.
