SBP set to introduce mobile app to reward remittance transactions

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Shaukat Tarin announced today that a mobile application named National Remittance Loyalty Program (NRLP), will be launched to incentivise the overseas Pakistanis.

The announcement was made in a meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet which was chaired by the Finance Minister. The Secretary Finance made a presentation to the NRLP highlighting the importance of remittances for the economy. 

The application is set to formally launch at the end of October 2021 in a bid to encourage overseas Pakistanis to send their hard-earned money through proper and formal channels. 

According to details, the application will be based on a system of rewards for each  remittance transaction as per a pre-set criteria.
