KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) launches ‘Service Desk Portal’, to facilitate the general public to register housing finance complaints with the SBP directly through the portal.
This initiative has been introduced for people to easily avail the government’s mark-up subsidy scheme for affordable housing.
In addition, the central bank has also established ‘Service Desks’ where people can visit the SBP branch in their cities where a special help desk has been formed for Government’s Markup Subsidy Scheme for Housing Finance.
While lauding this initiative of the SBP, CEO Graana.com Mr. Shafiq Akbar said, “The State Bank of Pakistan promoting housing finance is a good initiative, which will play a significant part in meeting the housing demand.”
“By introducing initiatives related to the housing and construction industry, the government is truly working to resolve the issue of housing demand in Pakistan,” said Director Graana.com Mr. Farhan Javed.
Markup Subsidy Housing Finance allows banks to grant housing finance with a very low and affordable markup of just 5% and 7%.
Under this scheme, low-income people can either buy or build a5 Marla (at 5% markup) or 10 Marla (at 7% markup) house.
The banks granting the housing finance have also established help desks to guide and solve the issues of people.
