ISLAMABAD: Massive plantation worth Rs 1 million under Prime Minister’s Clean Green Pakistan initiative has changed the outlook of the federal capital. Hundreds of saplings were planted in Islamabad in the past two months under a public-private partnership.
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Director General (DG) Naveed Tareen and Director Akhtar Rasool requested the citizens to take active steps to mitigate the menace of environmental pollution in the city. Free saplings were also distributed to encourage involvement from the citizens.
For this purpose, the CDA and Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) have assigned tasks to accelerate the process of plantation till 2024. Plants have already been planted in numerous locations including Constitutional Avenue, Zero Point, Srinagar Highway, Peshawar Mor, Faisal Avenue, Blue Area, Khayaban-e-Suharwardy, and other sites.
