LAHORE: While attending the groundbreaking ceremony of carpeting of Sahiwal interchange, Governor Punjab Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar on Thursday told that the Sahiwal-Samundri expressway will be laid down for linking Sahiwal with Lahore-Karachi motorway.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Punjab said that development projects worth Rs9bn will be incorporated in the Annual Development Program of Punjab in the upcoming fiscal year.
Governor Punjab also highlighted that carpeting of Lahore-Sahiwal GT road has also been initiated on the instructions of Prime Minister Imran Khan and will be completed by June 2022.
The project is going to cost Rs3.05bn and will be completed in different phases.
On the occasion, the governor Punjab also stated that the Sahiwal-Samundri expressway will increase trade and business opportunities in the area, and cut the traveling duration.
