ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Planning Development and Reforms has authorised the release of Rs5.762 billion to fund development projects of agriculture sector under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the current financial year against the total allocation of Rs12.047 billion.
The concerned authorities have also authorised the release of funds under Prime Minister’s Agriculture Emergency Programme to uplift agriculture and livestock sectors.
According to data released by the Planning Commission of Pakistan, the funds released would be utilised for development projects of the Ministry of National Food Security and Research.
Release of Rs2.750 billion has also been authorised for the national programme for improvement of watercourses phase-1 against the total allocation of Rs5.500 billion reserved for water conservation.
The Planning Commission has also authorised the release of Rs325 million aimed at enhancing the productivity of the wheat crop as against the total allocation of Rs650 million in the current financial year.
