QUETTA: A sum of Rs182 billion will be allocated to the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) to develop road infrastructure and dams across the province.
The sum will be allocated under the Southern Balochistan Project worth Rs600 billion, which is scheduled to be completed over three years to uplift the province.
The federal government will provide Rs540 billion, with the rest supplied by the Balochistan government. According to the project, the government will build roads and supply electricity. Similarly, the government plans to construct 16 new dams to irrigate 150,000 acres. As agriculture is the primary source of income in Balochistan, water is a significant necessity for people, provided through dams.
