ISLAMABAD: The federal government has earmarked Rs 500 million in the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP 2022-23) for the construction of a wildlife rehabilitation facility at the Islamabad Zoo.
As per reports, the blueprint for the centre has been designed by the famous architect Raza Ali Dada who has also worked on the conceptual design of the centre.
According to sources, Rina Saeed Khan, Chairperson of Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB), said that the national park will act as a repository for the fauna of the region including Asian leopards, pangolins, anteaters etc.
The national park will be used as a learning institute where students, experts and people interested in the study of wildlife and indigenous species of Margalla Hills National Park (MHNP) can gather and share knowledge.
