ISLAMABAD: On the directives of the Federal government to restructure the Capital Development Authority (CDA), an advertisement will be issued to appoint a managing director (MD) for the new board of CDA, Islamabad Chief Commissioner Aamer Ali Ahmed, who also holds the office of CDA chairman, will work as MD of the authority until a new one is appointed.
Currently, the Board comprises of Chairman, Member Finance and Accounts, Member Administration, Member Planning and Design, Member Engineering and Member Estate, in-charge of various directorates. As a part of the restructuring, the federal government has approved the formation of a five-member board.
To further improve governance and performance, the interior ministry has advised the Federal Cabinet to transfer CDA to the Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation.
In a meeting held with CDA and Islamabad Municipal Corporation (IMC), CDA Chairman Amir Ali announced that the restructuring will not affect the employees. He further elaborated the outline of the restructuring, where a new non-executive board would be formed according to the new CDA ordinance
Restructuring of the CDA also includes access to healthcare services at CDA Hospital, which earlier offered services only to the CDA employees. This will also relive PIMS and Polyclinic of excess load.
