LAHORE: In the latest weather warning issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department, major parts of the country and particularly the earthquake-hit areas like Azad Kashmir are likely to face a week-long spell of widespread rains.
Furthermore, flash floods may also be generated by heavy falls expected in Hazara, Malakand, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Dera Ghazi Khan Divisions, Islamabad and Kashmir.
The spell of rain might hinder the rescue operations in the affected areas, particularly in Azad Kashmir, where there was large scale structural damages. The concerned authorities were directed to stay alert and take precautionary measures during the forecast period, according to Chief Meteorologist Dr Azmat Hayat Khan.
