RDA’s Crackdown Against Illegal Housing Societies in Full Swing

ISLAMABAD: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has taken action against five illegal housing schemes on the directives of Director General (DG) Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa.

The Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate RDA issued notices to the owners of these schemes located in various areas including Dhoke Bhaia Rawat, Chak Beli Khan Road, Ralla Gujrain Chak Beli Khan Road, Mouza Paryal Chak Beli Khan Road, Mouza Dheri Jorian, Rawat Rawalpindi and Mouza Adiala Road, Rawalpindi.

According to an RDA spokesman, the DG has instructed concerned authorities to take strict action against illegal housing schemes and has advised citizens not to invest in unauthorized projects. 

The Director MP&TE has also been directed to take action against illegal advertisements and marketing of illegal projects and to lodge FIRs against the violators of rules. 

The RDA will also lodge FIRs against the aforementioned illegal housing schemes. The owners and sponsors of these illegal housing schemes were misleading the public through illegal advertisements. 

As per sources, the Planning Wing of RDA has requested the Cyber Crime Wing of FIA to take legal action in this regard. The RDA will continue its ongoing operation against illegal housing schemes without any discrimination.

The DG has advised citizens to check the status of housing schemes at RDA’s official website www.rda.gop.pk before making any investment.
