RAWALPINDI: Director General (DG) Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa has issued orders to accelerate efforts against illegal housing schemes.
As per sources, RDA has concentrated efforts on Cighu Farmhouse Housing Scheme, Mouza Chak Cighu, Royal Ghar Housing Scheme, Mouza Pariyal, Chak Beli Khan Road and New Iqra City/Iqra Residencia, Mouza Chakri and Jorian Rawat Road.
The source further added that the Enforcement Squad comprising of Incharge/ Assistant Director Building Control, Deputy Incharge, Superintendent Scheme and others has accelerated its ongoing operation by issuing notices to the violators.
The DG instructed the Director of Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) to take strict action against the promotion and advertisement of illegal projects. He further instructed to file FIRs against those who violate the rules and regulations.
According to the spokesperson, the owners and sponsors of illegal housing schemes were misleading the public through false and unauthorized advertising.
In this regard, the RDA has also requested various departments, including the Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO), Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), and Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), not to provide services to illegal housing schemes.
This crackdown is a part of RDA’s ongoing efforts to curb illegal housing schemes and to protect the rights of the public.
