RAWALPINDI: The Director General Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Capt. (R) Abdul Sattar Isani directed operations against the unlawful and unauthorised construction in housing schemes in a move to control the development of housing projects not in accordance with the law.
In a bid to reduce illegal commercial activities, Director Land Use and Building Control (LU&BC) Jamshaid Aftab have issued 14 notices and 9 challans to the owners of illegally constructed buildings. The LU & BC Wing has also been able to recover Rs 4.8 million from the illegal commercial buildings as part of the commercialisation fee.
As per reports, three plazas namely Prime Mall, Apex Building and Landmark Square in Top City Housing Scheme Islamabad were sealed due to violations. The violations in question are stated in Punjab Development of States Act 1976 and RDA Building and Zoning Regulations, 2020.
