ISLAMABAD: Foreign exchange inflows from the Roshan Digital Account (RDA), on Monday, achieved the historic milestone of crossing the $2 billion mark in 11 months.
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) announced the news through a tweet in which it expressed their gratitude towards the overseas Pakistanis for their contribution.
According to sources, a Rs13.1 billion subsidy will be required to maintain the growth rate.
Last week, the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the cabinet gave go-ahead for a reward system for the overseas Pakistanis to incentivise them to send money back to Pakistan through formal channels.
Previously, Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed appreciation on April 24 when the RDA inflows crossed $1bn and on June 27 when the $1.5bn mark was crossed.
