RAWALPINDI: Campaigning against illegal housing societies, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has introduced several initiatives to spread awareness among the general public.
Commenting on the matter, RDA Chairman Raja Tariq Mehmood informed that in order to avert scams, the authority had uploaded names of the illegal schemes on the official website.
To accommodate the residents, the authority has also set up a window, allowing people to walk in and check the status of any housing scheme before investing.

In addition, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has been directed to impose fines or block websites marketing and promote illegal housing societies.
Chairman RDA also informed that orders had been given to ensure timely issuance of NOCs, allowing sky-high buildings and vertical growth in the city.
