Rawalpindi Metropolitan Corporation Declares 86 Buildings Dilapidated

The Rawalpindi Metropolitan Corporation (RMC) has completed a survey of dilapidated buildings in the city and declared 86 of them as dangerous. Out of the 86 buildings marked as dilapidated, 22 are commercial establishments, while the remaining 66 are residential properties. The RMC has issued notices to the owners of these buildings, instructing them to vacate the buildings immediately.

The RMC survey found that the dilapidated buildings are located in Bohar Bazar, Raja Bazar, Syed Puri Gate, Bhapra Bazar, and Landa Bazar. These buildings are in a state of disrepair and could collapse at any time, posing a danger to the lives of those who live or work in them.

The RMC has warned that cases will be registered under the Local Government Act against the owners of buildings who do not cooperate with the authorities and vacate their properties.

The meteorological department has predicted heavy rains in Rawalpindi and Islamabad during the monsoon season. This makes the situation even more dangerous, as the dilapidated buildings could be further weakened by the rains and collapse.
