Things To Do In Ramadan 2024

We have gathered a list of things that you perform every day to receive the blessings of the almighty. Give these things a read and try to incorporate them into your daily lives.

 1. Read Quran

Did you know that you will be rewarded 10 rewards for every word you will read from the Quran during Ramadan?

Start reading the Quran today and try to develop this habit. Read the translation of the Quran as well and see the difference in your personality and understanding of religion.

If you read one juz(part) of the Quran every day, you will be able to finish the whole Quran within a month. Try reciting 2 to 3 pages after every Namaz for more convenience.

 2. Offer all Prayers

“Allah will build a house in Jannah for whoever is diligent in observing 12 sunnah rakat (as follows) 4 rakat before and 2 after Dhur, 2 after the Maghrib, 2 after Ishaa, and 2 before Fajr.”

[Tirmidhi]

This hadith is telling us the importance of offering prayers.

When you pray in Ramadan, you receive extra rewards from Allah Almighty. Then why pass up a chance to receive more from God?

Try to offer Sunnah along with obligatory salah to reap more rewards for this life and hereafter. If we adopt the habit of praying 5 times a day in Ramadan, we will be able to continue it all year long.

 3. Remember Allah

“O You who believe! Remember Allah with much remembrance”

{Surat Al-‘Aĥzāb33: Verse 41}

Try to do as much dhikr (remembrance) as possible.

Driving a car? Make a dua. Going out shopping? Remember Allah. There is a dua for literally everything we do.

We do not acknowledge these small things in our lives but they carry A LOT of weightage.

If you don’t remember these Azkaar, it’s okay. You can always listen to Islamic podcasts and Tilawat of the Quran.

Some of the easiest azkaar are:

  •  SubhanAllah or SubhanAllahwabihamdihi (“I praise Allah (or All praise if to Allah) above all attributes that do not suit His Majesty.”)
  •  Alhamdulillah (“All praise is for Allah.”)
  •  La hawlawa la quwwataillabillah (“There is no power or might except (by) Allah.”)

 4. Do Charitable Work

We need to let go of the misconception that charity is equivalent to giving money. Charity is not only about money.

Getting someone a glass of water is a charity too. Picking a stone from the road is a charity too. Feeding animals is a charity too. Looking at your parents with love is charity too. And this is the beauty of our religion.

During Ramadan, declutter your house and give away all the things you no longer use to someone in need. Fix meals for people who cannot afford them. Distribute dates and water to the health workers and security forces who are serving us in this time of turmoil. Give zakat to cleanse your wealth.

These are small things that can bring positive and lost lasting changes in your life. So, get up and be a good change.

 5. Prepare Iftar for Less Privileged People

There are tons of people around us who cannot even afford food to break their fast. Be grateful for all the blessings you have and remember these less privileged.

There are thousands of people who are serving us day and night. Thank them and provide them with food to break their fast.

Allah says in the Quran

“Whoever provides food for breaking of the fast for a fasting person receives the reward of the fasting person, without the reward of the fasting person being reduced in any way.”

[Tirmidhi & Ibn Majah]

Let’s remember all these unsung heroes and celebrate Ramadan with all the Islamic zest and spirit.

Ramadan in Pakistan is celebrated every year with happiness, high spirits, and zeal. Let’s continue the tradition together as a nation.  Let’s vow together to become better Muslims this year.

Stay happy, stay home, stay safe.

Ramadan Mubarak!
