Power projects: Minister directs timely completion

ISLAMABAD: Omar Ayub, Federal Minister for Economic Affair while chairing a meeting of the National Coordination Committee on foreign-funded energy projects ordered the relevant authorities for the timely completion of projects.

Speaking on the occasion, the federal minister called for incorporating up-to-date technologies including geographic information systems for the evaluation of the projects.

The federal minister was of the view that the government is keen to explore renewable energy sources for energy generation in the country.

Furthermore, the minister stated that an efficient transmission and distribution system will also be developed for energy distribution.

In the meeting, the minister was told that issues pertaining to the land acquisition of CASA 1000 had been resolved.
