ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan while chairing a meeting on the progress made in the tourism industry stated that no stone will be left unturned in utilising the potential of tourism in Pakistan.
Chief Minister-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mehmood Khan, SAPM Dr Shahbaz Gill, Adviser to Chief Minister Punjab for Tourism Asif Mehmood Khan, Chief Secretaries of all provinces and relevant officials were part of the meeting through video link.
According to details, the government has already completed geo-mapping of tourist destinations in order to attract investments in tourist stations. A calendar highlighting cultural festivals is also in the pipeline.
As per sources, the government has set up special desks in 27 embassies to encourage the promotion of tourism. A further 133 foreign tourism companies have been assisted to undertake smooth operation in Pakistan.
Furthermore, the issuance of e-visa has been revised to allow the process to be completed within 7 to 10 days for the ease of foreign tourists. As a result, 71,000 foreign tourists have availed the services.
