PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved a plan to restore Peshawar’s beauty by rectifying civic problems in Peshawar such as the existence of illegal billboards, temporary encroachments, banners, flags, redundant poles, iron structures, rusted vehicles, tuff pavers, kerbstones and broken streetlights.
KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan had issues instructions for the formulation of the ‘Peshawar Revival Plan’, based on the theme of “New Peshawar Old Charm”.
The plan has been drawn up to facilitate efficient regulation and lessen financial implications by the Peshawar Development Authority, the Tehsil Municipal Authorities, local government and the district administration.
Mahmood, who chaired a meeting at the Chief Minister House to review the proposal, said that once the plan is in effect, it will be extended to other divisional headquarters and major cities of the province.
Finance Minister Taimoor Salim Jhagra, Chief Secretary Dr Kazim Niaz, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Shahab Ali Shah and other relevant authorities attended the meeting.
