PESHAWAR: To simplify the tax system and ensure transparency, the department of excise and taxation has launched the Independent Property Survey (IPS) in the provincial capital.

Through the independent survey, the government aims to bring both small and big property owners into the tax net.
Along with properties being registered on the Geographic Information System (GIS) location, e-payments would also be introduced via the survey. This, in turn, will help increase the provincial receipts informed secretary excise and taxation Zafar Ali Shah.
While launched in Peshawar, the authority further announced that
The GIS survey is initially continuing in Peshawar while tenders to conduct a similar survey in Nowshera and Mardan have already been advertised and the exercise will begin shortly.
