PDWP approves 8 uplift schemes

LAHORE: The Punjab Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) has given go-ahead to eight development schemes worth Rs. 26,006.72 million for  various sectors.

As per details, PDWP’s 39th meeting, presided over by Chairman Planning & Development Board, Abdullah Khan Sumbal, approved the uplift schemes of current fiscal year 2020-21

According to sources, the development projects include construction of 13.7 km bypass from Royal Hotel to Sarwar Chowk via Adda Mai Wali Masjid worth Rs 1,311.509 million, construction of 123.62 km tourism highway from Lower Topa to Chowk Pandori via Kotli Sattian worth Rs. 4,039.788 million, Widening of 76.50 km Shahpur Bhera Malikwal Road in District Sargodha worth Rs. 1,693.187 million, establishment of Punjab Agriculture Food and Drug Authority worth Rs 6,322.43 million. 

The approved uplift schemes also include Technical Assistance for Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP) through Formulation of Rapid Housing Market Assessment (PC-II) worth Rs. 11.950 million, Rehabilitation of 75.21 km road from Narowal to Muridke Interchange at M-2 worth Rs. 6,558.788 million, Rehabilitation of 15 km metalled road from Dera Ismail Khan to Darya Khan worth Rs 745.879 million and Genetic Improvement of Non-Descript Cattle in Punjab worth Rs 5,323.189 million. .
