PESHAWAR: To provide facilities at the established quarantine centres and avert the spread of novel coronavirus in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) released additional funds worth Rs406 million for 18 districts.
On the directives of Provincial Chief Minister Mahmood Khan, the funds released by the authority includes Rs120 million for Khyber District. The districts of Mansehra, Malakand, Lower Kohistan, and Swat received Rs30 million each. Mardan, Abbottabad, Laki Marwat and Torghar were allotted Rs20 Million each. A total of Rs15 million were released for South Waziristan, and Rs10 million each for Lower Chitral, Buner, Lower Dir, Tank and Mohmand.
In addition, the Peshawar District Administration was facilitated with the safety equipment as passengers from abroad started arriving in the province.
The safety equipment includes 10,000 face masks, 1,300 bottles of sanitizers, 1,200 personal protective kits, 100 protective goggles, 32 nebulisers, 20 thermal guns, 200 bio-disposable bags, 11 disinfecting sprays, 480 paper towels, 500 bottles of surface cleaner and other safety items.
Moreover, a video conferencing system has been installed to ease communication with all districts, keeping in mind the issued SOPs and implementing precautionary measures.
