The meeting was attended by senior officials from the Planning, Development & Special Initiatives Division, the Ministry of Interior, the Finance Division, CDA Board members, and other relevant authorities.

With an estimated cost of Rs652.819 million, the project aims to convert the existing 50-acre CDA nursery into a state-of-the-art horticultural hub. Announced by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during the inauguration of the F-8 Interchange in December, the initiative is set to enhance Islamabad’s green spaces and promote environmental sustainability.

The Gardenia Hub will feature flower shops, a serene coffee shop, eco-friendly tree houses offering elevated views, and controlled, ventilated greenhouses to support diverse plant cultivation. A tissue culture laboratory will facilitate plant propagation, while a sustainable drip irrigation system will ensure efficient water usage. Additionally, a flower exhibition area will showcase seasonal and ornamental blooms.

According to a CDA spokesperson, this transformation aligns with the authority’s vision of fostering horticultural innovation and creating a greener, more vibrant capital.
