Islamabad: Pakistan is celebrating Defense Day today on September 6 with fervor and patriotic spirit resonating throughout the country. This date commemorates the successful defense of Pakistan by its armed forces in 1965, thwarting enemy aggression and securing a momentous victory. The day also honors the brave young men who made the ultimate sacrifice to safeguard our cherished homeland.
According to reports, Pakistan’s President, Arif Alvi, Caretaker Prime Minister, Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, all service chiefs, and the Pakistan Army have all expressed heartfelt tributes to the martyrs and extended their condolences to their families.
President Arif Alvi, in his message, commended those who have devoted their lives to the nation’s cause. Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar, the Caretaker Prime Minister, emphasized in his Defense and Martyrs Day message that the nation stands united with its courageous armed forces to counter any threats to the country’s security and progress. Through dedication and valor, they will continue to safeguard Pakistan against security and economic challenges.
It is essential to highlight that on September 6, 1965, the sons of the motherland made unparalleled sacrifices, shaping Pakistan into an indomitable fortress. To commemorate Defense Day and honor the martyrs, a dignified ceremony was conducted at the mausoleum of Pakistan’s founding father, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. During the ceremony, cadets from the Pakistan Air Force assumed the responsibility of guarding Quaid’s mausoleum.
