ISLAMABAD: Pakistan plunges into darkness as all the major cities, including Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore reported a blackout.

The breakdown is a result of a drop in frequency of the power transmission system, from 50 to 0, the Ministry of Energy has reported, causing the National Transmission Despatch Company’s lines to trip. All relevant teams are working to restore power, it was further announced.
