Apart from your personal belongings, you also need to have a valid passport with you. Without a passport, you will not be able to enter any country. If you have an invalid passport, do not worry. Now, the government of Pakistan is providing an online passport renewal service to its citizens.

With easy steps, you can get your new passport from the comfort of your house.

Who Needs to Renew their Passport?

If the passport has not yet expired but has 7 months or less validity, the applicant can still apply in the renewal category to acquire a machine-readable passport with the extended validity of the passport. You can get a new passport with a duration of either 5 years or 10 years.

Understand the E-Portal

To get your new passport at home, you need to login into the e-portal. It was launched by the Pakistani government to help Pakistani citizens across the globe.

E-Services Portal acts as a channel to Directorate General Immigration and Passports’ online services for Pakistani citizens around the world. The portal can be used by Pakistani citizens for passport renewal. So, if your passport is expired or you want to extend the duration of your passport, login to the portal today. You can get your passport from passport offices.

Thanks to advancements in science and technology, the process of renewal of passports have also been improved by leaps and bounds. People now prefer e-portal because:

  • It is highly convenient. Instead of spending hours and hours in queues waiting for your turn in passport offices, it is better to avail the services from the comfort of your house. Simple steps and ease of submitting online documents have made the process easier.
  • It is accessible. Unlike traditional office hours, you do not have to wait for certain hours to apply for a passport. You can easily apply for your passport from anywhere in the world.
  • The payment option is very easy and secure. Instead of waiting for your turn in banks, simply pay the money through your credit/debit card.

Steps of Renewal of Passport Online

With the help of the e-portal, you can easily get your new passport. Just follow the below-mentioned steps and you are good to go.

STEP 1: Registration

First of all, you need to register an account on the e-Services Portal. You can get access to the portal by clicking on the Get Started button on the homepage. To gain access, you need to give a valid mobile number and email address for account verification. Once you verify your details, your account will be active. 

STEP 2: Fee Submission

In this step, you will have to make an online payment. Instead of waiting hours in banks for your turn, you can easily submit the payment online. They accept all major Credit Cards/Debit Cards.

STEP 3: Online Application

After the fee submission process, you have to complete your online application. For that, add all your credentials in the application and make sure all provided information is correct. You will have to add your photo, fingerprints, and all the other supporting documents.

This is the last step. After submitting your information, sit back and relax. Your Application will be processed by Directorate General Immigration and Passports and your renewed passport will be delivered to you through your chosen delivery option.

Note:

The applicant may be required to visit the nearest passport office if the authorities require to conduct an applicant’s interview. The applicant is required to select the nearest passport office while filling in the application.

Things You Need to Apply for the Passport

The following documents are required while applying for renewal of Machine Readable Passport through online passport service.

  • Color scanned copies of valid CNIC or NICOP or Smart CNIC or NICOP both sides.
  • Color scanned copies of existing Passport (First two pages and one random page asked by the system).
  • Color scanned copy of Valid Visa/ Aqama/ Residence Permit/ Asylum card/ Other Nationality Passport.

For Minors (Less than 18 Years)

The following documents are pre-requisite for issuance of passport to minors below 18 years of age:

  • Color scanned copies of valid NICOP or Smart card (both sides) or Computerized B- Form or Family Registration Certificate.
  • Color scanned copies of mother and father valid National ID Cards (both sides).
  • Guardianship certificate/ court decision in case of separation.
  • Color scanned copy of minor’s attestation form ( available in the download tab).
  • Color scanned copy of Death Certificate if mother or father has passed away.
  • Color scanned copy of Valid Visa/ Aqama/ Residence Permit/ Asylum card/ Other Nationality Passport.

Government Employees

If the applicant is an employee of the Government of Pakistan, the following documents will be required:-

  • Color scanned copies of valid CNIC or NICOP or Smart CNIC or NICOP on both sides.
  • Applicant must provide No-Objection Certificate (NOC) in case he/ she is working as Government Officer/ Official, Armed forces Officers/  or employee of an employee of Semi-Government/ Autonomous Bodies/ Corporation. The NOC is subject to confirmation/ verification by the department concerned.
  • Color scanned copies of existing Passport (First two pages and one random page asked by the system).
  • Color scanned copy of Valid Visa/ Aqama/ Residence Permit/  Asylum card/ Other Nationality Passport.
