NHA to complete Hakla-D.I. Khan Motorway till August 2021

ISLAMABAD: Chairman National Highway Authority (NHA) Capt (R) Muhammad Khurram Agha announced the completion of the Hakla-Dera Ismail Khan motorway project till August 2021, while addressing E-Kachehri held through the official Facebook page of the authority.

Furthermore, the progress of various projects was discussed.

With the land acquisition for the Sukkur-Hyderabad motorway underway, work on the project will be launched in three to four months.

Speaking on the occasion, it was informed that the dualisation of the entire Indus Highway is also in progress in coordination with the respective provinces.

In addition, the Balkasar-Mianwali road is also being repaired by the authority to facilitate the commuters. The dualsation of the road project will be carried out under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) basis.

In collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), development work on Kashmore-Bypass is expected to start by the end of this year.

The development work on the Hala-Sakrand project will be started in one month.

The authority has also sped up work to ensure timely completion of the Gharo-Keti-Bander-Thatta road.

Chairman NHA also informed that the tender for the Sambrial-Kharian project has been completed, whereas design and feasibility work on the Kharain-Rawalpindi project is in progress.

He said steps are being taken to start work on the Barakahu flyover project for the smooth flow of traffic there.

The authority has re-tendered the Bahrain-Kalam road project.

In addition, work on the Chitral-Shandur road project, the Thakot-Raikot section, and Rakhi Gajj–Bewata project will also be started.

The authority will also conclude the development work on the Gilgit-Skardu road by the end of this year.

The work on the Lodhran-Multan section will also be undertaken in two months.
