ISLAMABAD: The National Highway Authority (NHA) Executive Board forwarded the approval of the Sharda-Noori Top-Jalkhad Road (SNJ) to the Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC).
The SNJ road will be a 50-kilometre strip beginning at Sharda and leading up to Jalkhad. A total budget of Rs16.320 billion has been set aside for the construction project.
The Executive Board set the award of contract to Rs396.904 million for the project. The lowest evaluated bidder was offered the contract, i.e., M/s PMCC – TENEC (Pvt) Ltd. JV, at their bid of Rs388.966. The final contracted award was just 2 percent lower than the engineer’s cost estimate based on CSR 2014.
The board also decided on adopting a fixed base price on toll plazas where the Electronic Toll and Traffic Management (ETTM) Systems have not yet been installed.
