ISLAMABAD: The National Highway Authority (NHA) arranged a roadshow to showcase the Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway (M-6) in a bid to attract foreign investment for the project.
Chairman NHA Capt (retd) Sikandar Qayyum, Zhang Bing – Second Secretary of Economic and Commercial Sector, Embassy of China and Hasan Javed – Secretary to Commercial Counsellor, Turkey were among the main participants of the roadshow.
As per an official statement, the motorway is estimated to cost Rs204.28billion for construction and scheduled to be completed in 33 months.
The M-6 is part of the Karachi-Peshawar Motorway, an important component of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). According to Chairman NHA, the sole missing link in the megaproject is the Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway, which is being offered for foreign investment.
Elaborating on the design, General Manager NHA (Public Private Partnership) Azeem Tahir said the length of the proposed motorway will be 306 km and will comprise 14 interchanges, one major bridge on River Indus, six flyovers, 10 Service Areas and 12 Rest Areas.
