Addressing the opening ceremony of the plant at the Prime Minister House, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that prefab housing is the best option to provide low-cost housing within the shortest possible time.

He said that foreign firms are always welcomed to the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme that bring along valuable investment and cutting-edge technology. The local sector has much to learn from such advancements.

He added that such technology has substantially benefitted similar housing programmes in Turkey and India. The prefabricated housing will be provided in Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi to replace the shanty towns and address broadening housing deficit. The PM further said that prefab houses are more efficient, easy to construct and cheaper if compared with the cemented construction.

The premier said that the government is focused to bring such a modern technology to agricultural sector as well, as Pakistan has a tremendous potential to be tapped. Technology will improve the productivity and address poverty alleviation in rural regions of the country.

The prime minister also appreciated the efforts of Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing towards strengthening China-Pakistan relations, and especially for encouraging Chinese investors to explore Pakistan’s diverse areas.
