Pakistan is currently facing a backlog of 11-12 million houses. To cater for the increasing demand for housing units in Pakistan, the government has taken a very good initiative to provide affordable housing to the masses.
For that, the government has introduced the Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme. In this regard, housing has been started in the following regions:
To cater to the increasing demand for low-cost and affordable housing, the government has formed a housing task force. The task force has some of the most experienced people in the housing industry in Pakistan including development professionals, builders and architects.
The task force also includes affordable housing and slums regeneration experts and 21 experts in the housing and housing finance sector.
The primary objective of the Housing Task Force (HTF) is the establishment of a full-fledged housing authority under the name of Naya Pakistan Housing Authority.
This Authority will be an independent, autonomous body, aided by an independent Board of Directors, under the supervision of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr Imran Khan.
The vision of the Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme is to address the housing shortage in Pakistan. For that, the authorities will make sure to make available all the factors that are needed to make affordable housing a reality in Pakistan.

The Naya Pakistan Housing Schemes will operate in all the major regions of Pakistan. Currently, three regions of Punjab province have the Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme. The regions and the details of the houses are provided below.

Housing Minister, Mian Mahmood Ur Rasheed has launched Low-Cost Housing Projects in eight cities. Projects have been announced in cities including Okara, Lodhran, Bahawalnagar, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Chistian, Chiniot and Jhelum

The provincial setup for NPHP is yet to be established. A few housing projects have however been announced by FGEHF.
FEGHF has launched a housing project in Islamabad for Govt employees. In compliance with the decision of the Prime Minister Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation launched EOI from private parties under JV Policy duly approved by Federal Government on 12-10-2018 to provide housing facilities to around 150,000 Federal Government Employees already registered with FGEHF.
