ISLAMABAD: The federal government has directed Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed to oversee the taking over of the Rs16 billion Metro Bus project by the Capital Development Authority (CDA).
According to sources, the 25.6 km long track of Islamabad and Rawalpindi Metro Bus route from Peshawar Mor to Islamabad International Airport (IIA) was launched by National Highway Authority (NHA) in January 2017 but was stalled due to delays in the release of funds.
As per reports, CDA assumed control over five metro stations on Monday. Part of the track from Peshawar Mor to the railway bridge was handed over earlier while two other stations and the main platform are yet to be handed over.
