ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is embarking on an ambitious initiative to undertake rural development projects worth a staggering Rs10 billion.
The first phase of the project, comprising 17 individual projects and costing an estimated Rs 2.8 billion, has already been put out to tender by the engineering wing.
The CDA’s plans involve rehabilitation and improvement work on various roads located in several regions, including Shah Allah Ditta, Golra, Sangjani, Jodh, Sarai Kharboza, Gokina, Mandla, Bari Imam, Sanjalian, Banigala, Phulgran, Sakreela, Naiabadi, Huzaifa Town, Bhara Kahu, and Malpur.
The CDA will be undertaking development works in Union Councils in all three constituencies of Islamabad for the first time in its history.
This initiative comes after the Prime Minister’s approval of the CDA’s plan to undertake development works in rural areas back in February.
The PML-N Secretary General, Sardar Mehtab Advocate, asserts that the CDA’s endeavours are solely for the betterment of rural communities and not driven by political interests or upcoming elections.
However, the Director of Work at the CDA, Tahir Mahmood, disclosed that these projects have been equally divided among all union councils.
The government aims to complete all 17 projects within three months, with a strong commitment to ensuring the timely and efficient development of Islamabad’s rural areas.
