ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) has issued a ban on BBQs, smoking, bonfires, burning, and littering of garbage, plastic, and laminable items in an effort to protect the Margalla Hills National Park from further degradation and preserve its ecological balance.
As per the official notification, the order is set to come into effect immediately, remaining in force for two months.
The Additional District Magistrate exercised his powers under Section 144 Cr.PC 1898 to prohibit these activities within the jurisdiction of the Federal Capital.
To ensure that the order is widely publicized, it will be published in the Official Gazette and local newspapers and displayed in conspicuous places throughout the Islamabad Capital Territory.
The Margalla Hills National Park is an important ecological site and home to a diverse range of flora and fauna.
The ban on these activities is aimed at protecting the biodiversity of the park and ensuring that it remains a vital ecological site for years to come.
