MCB Tower

MCB Tower is a commercial and office building located in Karachi. It is one of the tallest buildings in the country, standing at a height of 173 metres (568 feet). Construction of the building began in 2000 and was completed in 2005. It was the tallest building in the country until 2012. 

ASA was entrusted with the architecture, interior design, coordination, and top supervision of the project. The building covers an area of 230,000 square feet, and was completed at a cost of Rs. 1300 million. 

 

The Centaurus

 

The Centaurus is a mixed-use high-rise building which has a height of 174 metres (571 feet). Designed by British architectural firm WS Atkins, it features a 36-floor hotel, three 23-floor residential and office towers, and a four-storey shopping mall. It also includes several local and international brands, along with the leading departmental store Al Fateh Cash & Carry and a food court offering different cuisines. 

The Centaurus Mövenpick Hotel is currently under construction. The estimated cost of building the complex was $100 million. The ambitious project was completed in 2011, and has become a notable addition to the capital’s skyline. Another high raise building in this area is Saudi Pak Tower.

 

Habib Bank Plaza

Habib Bank Plaza, also known as HBL Plaza, is a building located on I. I. Chundrigar Road in Karachi. It serves as the head office of Habib Bank Limited and was once the tallest building in Asia. It held the title of the tallest building in Pakistan for four decades until the completion of the 29-floor, 116-metre tall MCB Tower. While under construction between 1963 and 1968, it was one of the only three buildings outside of East and Southeast Asia to hold the title of the tallest building in Asia.
