LAHORE: On Tuesday, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) briefed the incumbent chief minister about the execution of five new projects to be undertaken in the provincial capital.
LDA informed the CM that the projects were facing a lag due to the ongoing political instability nowadays. The previous chief minister had approved the projects in his tenure. Given the projects were budding at the time of the previous PML-N rule, the LDA’s engineering wing looks forward to CM’s approval.
The projects encompass the T-Junction extending from Babu Sabu to Gulshan-e-Ravi, Shahdara Morh multi-level grade separation flyover with the worth of Rs2.8bn, an expressway worth Rs6.5bn from Gulberg to Babu Sabu, Ring Road and its pending expansion with the value of Rs2.40bn, and finally, a signal-free corridor from Defence Mor to Center Point Gulberg.
Sources also revealed that fifteen other projects await the new government’s attention. There is particular emphasis on the development of the Shairanwala Gate Flyover, Gulab Devi, and Shahkam Flyover, which may prove challenging for the incumbent government. Any further delay in these projects will lead to a considerable hike in project costs.
