LAHORE: In a meeting of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA), the development working party approved the execution of two development projects worth Rs2.13 billion.
The approved projects include the construction of an underpass worth of Rs1.80bn near Firdous Market, Gulberg and an entertainment park costing Rs330mn in Johar Town.
A full-depth reclamation will be done whereby a 540 feet long two-lane dual carriageway underpass will be constructed near Firdous Market to avoid vehicular congestion from Centre Point, Gulberg, to Cavalry Ground and further facilitate vehicles going towards MM Aalam Road.
For the construction of the project, seven-kanal land would be acquired and special arrangements will be implemented catering to drainage of rainwater. No existing structural changes will be made in the area under the project.
The meeting was further briefed on the establishment of the entertainment park, which will be set up on 140 kanals of land in Johar Town, adjacent to Aleem Dar Cricket Academy.
The park will offer a jogging track, lake, open gym, basketball court, tennis court and facilities for other outdoor games.
Along with LDA Chief Engineer Habib-ul-Haq Randhawa, Project Directors Abdur Razzaq Chohan and Iqrar Hussain, the meeting was also attended by representatives of provincial Finance as well as Planning & Development Departments besides consultants of the projects.
