Lai Expressway hits a snag after imposition of Section 144

Rawalpindi: In order to clear encroachments off Swan River and Nala Layi and to stop construction of Layi Expressway, the imposition of Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code has been put.

District administration has communicated the decision to Punjab Home Department.

Finance Department Rawalpindi Field Staff carried out a survey to identify the right of way for Layi Expressway. Several constructions have been identified within 40 metres of the Expressway.

A committee of ADCR Rawalpindi, Executive Engineer Building, WASA and RDA officials has however been established for a respective statement on the survey.
