Kuwait shows interest in financing Sindh renewable energy projects

Karachi: In a meeting of the Sindh Minister for Energy Imtiaz A Shaikh with Consul General of Kuwait Mohammad AlKhalidi, discussion on the feasibility of investment in the renewable energy sector of Sindh was held.

According to the CG, Kuwait Investment Fund and Kuwait Board of Investment showed a keen interest in schemes of financing solar and wind energy-related projects. This also includes projects of gas and power generation through bio-degradable waste.

The Sindh Minister pressed upon the potential for renewable energy generation through regular and efficient financing and thus assured of putting a proposal before the provincial cabinet and a memorandum of understanding (MoU) could be signed post-approval.
