Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has introduced the Public Works Management Information System (PWMIS) to enhance efficiency, transparency, and financial oversight in development projects across the province.
Developed by the Communication and Works (C&W) Department, PWMIS is designed to digitalize public works processes, enabling real-time monitoring and seamless online management. The initiative was officially launched in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, with KP Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, administrative secretaries, and senior officials in attendance.
During the briefing, officials highlighted that PWMIS will optimize fund utilization, ensure strict adherence to approved PC-1s, and reduce human intervention to curb corruption. To enhance oversight, dedicated dashboards will be established at the Chief Minister’s Office, provincial departments, and the Accountant General’s Office.
Chief Minister Gandapur praised PWMIS as a major step toward digital transformation and improved governance in KP. The government also aims to expand the system to other departments in the future.
