In a bid to revolutionize Pakistan’s transportation and trade infrastructure, the Karachi-Sukkur Motorway project is slated to break ground in 2025, according to Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan. The motorway will connect Karachi Port to the existing Sukkur Motorway, completing the critical North-South corridor and significantly reducing travel time.
The project, a cornerstone of Pakistan’s economic strategy, is expected to generate PKR 3,000 billion over the next 25 years. Designed under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, the government remains ready to fund the initiative fully if private investment isn’t secured.
Minister Khan emphasized the motorway’s transformative potential for trade logistics and regional development. By facilitating seamless transportation of goods, the project aims to drive investment, create jobs, and uplift communities across Sindh and beyond.
“The Karachi-Sukkur Motorway isn’t just a road—it’s a gateway to economic progress,” said Minister Khan, reaffirming the government’s commitment to completing the project swiftly. This development signals a bold step toward reshaping Pakistan’s connectivity and economic future.
