RAWALPINDI: A little over a month after its launch, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs Usman Dar announced that the Kamyab Jawan Programme has received one million applications from all over Pakistan.
Dar said that the Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme would adopt transparent and fair procedures to disburse loans to the deserving youth.
“The number of female applicants is 190,000,” he added while speaking at a ceremony held to mark the 5th Global Entrepreneurship Week at the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI).
The official said that the programme, which will provide financial and technical assistance to successful candidates aged 21-45, has been allocated Rs100 billion.
“Business plans will be shared with the all chambers,” continued Dar.“The chamber will be included in policy-making. The role of the Rawalpindi chamber in promoting entrepreneurship is commendable.”
The special assistant further said that the authorities have earmarked Rs12 billion for skilled development training to educate the youth on emerging technologies.
